Yes Nice

Yes Nice is a band that captivates audiences through their charismatic energy and enticing harmonies. Lyrically and musically, Yes Nice stretches boundaries with dynamic songwriting that stands out in the Canadian indie musical landscape. Lead vocalists, Scott McKellar and Nathaniel Wong have been writing songs together for the past ten years. In 2007, they self-produced their first full-length album and put together a band as Yes Nice. Soon after, they released an eight track EP and quickly gained critical praise for both their recorded work and live show. Their 2009 release ‘Blindfolded’ is currently being acclaimed in press reviews and receiving local and national radio play.

Yes Nice has evolved into a special musical family that includes drummer Peter Hendrickson, singer guitarist Darren Frank, and the all-instrumentalist, Jillian McKellar. Yes Nice has played with the likes of Destroyer, Julie Doiron, Clues, The Secretaries, Colleen Brown, Said the Whale and Bend Sinister. Yes Nice was a top 20 finalist in the 2010 Peak Performance Project.  The band has toured Western Canada, and was awarded the $20 000 Harvard Broadcasting Award for best performance at New Music West 2011.
