Don Macdonald

Don Macdonald has a multifaceted musical career that includes professional performing on saxophone, violin and voice. His conducting resume includes work with symphony orchestra, choir and jazz band. His composition credits include music for opera, theatre, dance, published vocal arrangements and forays into everything from jazz and electronica to contemporary classical music. He has scored music for films featured at all the major film festivals and his operatic score for Cannes Film Festival winner, "Shoes Off" was recognized as "one of the most compelling original scores attached to any Canadian film, ever..." (Vancouver Province).  

Well known for his hilariously macabre score to the Zombie film “Fido”, Don Macdonald has received many awards and nominations including a Genie nomination for his score to the groundbreaking Lynne Stopkewich film, “Kissed” starring Molly Parker. Don's most film, Mark Sawers' "Camera Shy", will premier at this year's Vancouver International Film Festival
