Isa and Rich
Richard Pell and Isabelle Noël are Canadian film composers and performing artists based in Toronto. Drawing from diverse musical backgrounds—spanning indie bands, jazz, DJ-ing, and electro-acoustic soundscape design. The two have developed a distinctive voice in screen music.
The duo began collaborating in 2010, after Rich heard Isa's electro-acoustic works for contemporary artists which was featured in venues such as MoCA Miami, the Istanbul Biennial, the AGO, and the Power Plant.
Since then, their original scores for film, television and Documentary projects have been featured across CBC, BBC, HBO, PBS, Disney, National Geographic, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, with work showcased at TIFF and Sundance.
Recent projects include Malory Towers, currently airing on BBC and the award-winning director Phyllis Ellis's poignant feature documentary Beautiful.
Beyond their scoring collaborations, Rich performs with his improv band Jellastica, and his jazz trio mixing genres with classical repertoire. Isa is completing Ravins, an electro-symphonic operatic album featuring Fides Krucker.
